One day State level Webinar on the theme “IMPACT OF COVID 19 ON INDIAN ECONOMYWas organinsed by PG and Research Department of Commerce, on 19th April, 2021 at 2.00 pm in the Department of Commerce, Cardamom Planters’ Association College, Bodinayakanur, in which students from our college and staff members have participated.  86 members were present in this meeting.

Dr. S. Balamurugan, Vice-Principal, Head of the Department of Commerce & Convenor of the programme welcomed the gathering and Dr. V. Krishnakumar, Organising Secretary and Assistant professor of Commerce was introduced the chief guest to the gatherings. Dr. S. Sagathevan, M.A.,Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Madras Christian College, Chennai acted as the guest speaker.

The Webinar provided an insight view on the impact of covid-19 in Indian economy. Dr.S.Sivakumar, Principal (i/c) of CPA College presided over the function and delivered presidential address.

Dr. S. Sagathevan, in his key note address highlighted about the status of Indian economy since the pandemic of covid-19. He also highlighted on loss of employment, deep decline of GDP, loss on revenue to government, change in consumption pattern, mass movement of labourers, Government initiatives in resolving the economy. He himself as an economist suggested some policies that can be adopted to improve the economy for this point.

The concluding session of the seminar resolved the doubts and queries of gatherings by our chief guest. Finally, Dr. A. Sujatha, Assistant Professor of Commerce proposed vote of thanks.
