The day celebrates the contribution and innovations made possible by programmers and software engineers who design and write computer code. Around the globe, developers and companies worldwide have adopted different ways to celebrate and observe this day, including:
- Promoting awareness of the importance of programming.
- Encouraging people to learn about programming.
- Acquiring new programming skills.
- Connecting with other developers.
- Talking about coding topics in groups and forums.

Every year International. Programmers Day is celebrated on September 13, or the 256th day of the year. The day honors programmers and innovators who make our lives easier by innovating and designing programs. This day was celebrated by our department on 13.09.2022. Various competitions like Quiz, Coding Contest were conducted for the students. The valedictory function was conducted at 2.30 pm on the same day. Dr.K. Nithyanandakumari, Assistant Professor welcomed the audience. Dr. S. Sivakumar, Principal (i/c) and Dr. K. Madasamy, Associate Professor & Head (i/c), Dr. R. Murugesan, Associate Professor and Dr. K. Nithyanandakumari, Assistant Professor were delivered technical talks in connection with coding ethics, software testing, software debugging and software practices. During the valedictory ceremony, students were awarded prizes. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. K.Mohankumaramangalam, Head & Assistant Professor of CS&IT, followed by National Anthem.
