“LEGAL PROVISIONS AND RECENT AMENDMENTS IN GST”

Report on Seminar The Department of Economics, Cardamom Planters’ Association College, Bodinayakanur, organized a seminar on the topic “Legal Provisions and Recent Amendments in GST” on 19th September 2025 at 10:30 AM in the Economics Smart Class. The programme began with the invocation of Tamil Thaai Vazhthu. Dr. S. Senthil Kumar, Assistant Professor & Head of the Department of Economics, delivered the Welcome Address. The Presidential Address was delivered by our respected Principal, Dr. S. Sivakumar. The Resource Person, CA. R. Kumaresan, B.A., F.C.A., Chartered Accountant, Kumaresan & Co., Bodinayakanur, delivered the keynote address. In his session, he elaborated on the legal provisions of the Goods and Services Tax and provided detailed insights into the recent amendments. He highlighted the practical implications of GST on businesses and individuals and clarified doubts raised by the students with real-time examples. The session was highly interactive and informative, benefitting both students and faculty members. It enriched participants’ understanding of taxation laws and their applications in the contemporary economic scenario. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. M. Hemalatha, Assistant Professor of Economics, followed by the National Anthem. Overall, the seminar proved to be a valuable academic initiative, enhancing the knowledge and awareness of students on the latest developments in taxation.
