Heritage walk -Thirukunagiri Malai Uthamapalayam

Department of history organised one-day Heritage walk at Uthmapalayam Samanar Hills on 13/08/2025. The hillock features numerous bas-relief sculptures of Jain Tirthankaras in Kayotsarga (standing) and Padmasana (sitting) postures. Inscriptions in ancient Tamil and Vattezuttu script are found near the sculptures, mentioning authorship by figures such as Ajjanandi and Arishtanemi Periyar
