About Department

The department of Tamil was established in the year 1974 with Dr. Muthu Thanga Ayappan as the Head.  Following him Mrs. G. Selva and Dr. K. Malaichamy steered the department with their designation as Head of the Department.  At present is under the gracious reign of Dr. L. Alamelu.  The contemporary government aided professors of the department are Dr. V. Meena, and Mrs. M.S. Radha, Mr. N. Selvaraj as self-finance faculty.  To kindle up the interest of the students over Tamil, The department often organise several events through Tamil Literary Association.
