REPORT ON GUEST LECTURE

             The Department of Economics of CPA College, Bodinayakanur, has organized an insightful Guest Lecture on the topic "Economics of Pollution and its Impacts" on the 22^nd of September, 2023, at 11:00 AM in A.S. Subburaj Memorial A/C Hall.

            The program was commenced with a warm welcome address by    Dr. S. Senthil Kumar, Head & Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. He set the tone for the lecture by highlighting the importance of understanding the economic implications of pollution in today’s world.

           The Principal of CPA College, delivered the Presidential Address. In his speech, he emphasized the relevance of integrating environmental issues into economic studies and encouraged students to engage with such critical topics. Dr. S. Balamurugan, felicitated the program, appreciating the department's efforts in organizing this event.

           The Resource person for the lecture, Dr. A. Marimuthu, Associate Professor, PG & Research Department of Economics, Government Arts College, Melur, Madurai, delivered an engaging and informative session. He delved into the economic impacts of pollution, discussing how environmental degradation affects economies at both micro and macro levels. He also explored various economic policies that could mitigate pollution and promote sustainable development.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. D. Hema, Assistant Professor of Economics, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, the Management members, principal, and all the participants for making the event a success.
