The CPA College organized a webinar on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness Programs” on November 10, 2022, through the Webex platform, in collaboration with the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks. The event aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of Intellectual Property Rights among the participants.

 

Dr. R. Murugesan, Ph.D., Coordinator of IQAC and Associate Professor of Computer Science, delivered the welcome address. He set the tone for the webinar by emphasizing the importance of intellectual property in today's rapidly evolving world. Dr. S. Sivakumar, Ph.D., Principal, graced the occasion with the Presidential Address. He highlighted the college's commitment to fostering knowledge and creating a platform for intellectual discourse.

 

Mr. A. Seetha Raman, an Examiner of Patents and Designs at the Patent Office, Chennai, delivered the keynote address. Mr. Raman provided valuable insights into the intricacies of patents and designs, shedding light on their role in innovation and industry development. Dr.K. Krishnan, Ph.D., Coordinator of the NAAC and Assistant Professor of Mathematics, expressed gratitude on behalf of the organizing team. He thanked the distinguished speakers, participants, and the collaborating government bodies for making the event a success.

 

The webinar saw enthusiastic participation from 62 faculty members and 497 students. This demonstrated the widespread interest and recognition of the importance of Intellectual Property Rights in the academic community. The webinar concluded with the National Anthem. Overall, the webinar was a success, providing a platform to enhance knowledge and awareness about IPR among the participants.
